All analysis published by People’s Future Scotland is free to read.

There is no paywall on The 28, the Independence Debate, or the Commentary. Anyone can access the full text without restriction.

Membership is for those who want to take part in the discussion.

What membership includes

There are two tiers.

Free

• Read all analysis in The 28, the Independence Debate and the Commentary
• Receive new Commentary by email if you choose

Free access does not include commenting or submitting questions.

Member — £7 per month or £70 per year

• Everything in the free tier
• Comment and discuss on all analysis pages
• Submit questions and suggested topics for the Independence Debate series
• A basic member profile (name and optional photo)

Reading is free.

Membership is only for those who want to take part in the discussion.

How it works

Discussion takes place directly on the relevant pages through member comments.

Members can also submit questions or suggested topics for the Independence Debate. The team reviews submissions and, where appropriate, incorporates them into future updates or new sections. The project retains editorial control to maintain quality, coherence, and a consistent approach.

Membership income supports the work.

It does not buy influence over the published positions.
